I have been getting back into shape after the nasty bout I had with a near fatal infection in January! I had a workout this morning (back up to level 5 on the Lifecycle), free weights and sit-ups.
I decided to get really adventurous and try and start the lawn mower (which hasn’t been started in four years). After about thirty tries the lawnmower finally started up (and kept running – it had started about 10 times before that – ran about 5-10 seconds and then quit). Talk about a workout!
Anyway – to bring everybody up to date – I left Greyhound right before Thanksgiving. Had a terrible infection, which went into my blood on early January – was in ICU for a night and the hospital for four days. Had major problems with my heart rate all over the place. That’s seems to have stabilized.
Seeing a doctor because of the UTI that started the infection, that is stable.
Still seeing an allergist because of extreme allergies, after over 2 ½ years of allergy shots they don’t seem to be working. Still have sinus headaches (although have not had a sinus infection since I had the sinus surgery last year).
Seeing a Neurologist for the sinus headaches. Had a brain scan and a sleep study a couple of weeks ago (still waiting for the results – trying to provide proof to my wife that I actually have a brain). Definitely was avoiding a sleep study until I was out of Greyhound, particularly on the extra board with the strange hours I had to work. I finally called yesterday to try and get them moving on the results.
Okay – everyone is up to date now…. I pray you all have a blessed Easter Holiday
